When does ski season end in Colorado?

Ski season in Colorado typically ends in late April or early May, though this can vary depending on the location and snowfall. Arapahoe Basin even continues skiing and riding through June! End-of-season skiing and riding at this resort typically includes fun events, such as gaper day or beach days, where skiers and riders dress up, grill out, and hit the slopes.

What are the predictions for the 2024-2025 ski season?

Predictions for the 2024-2025 ski season in Colorado suggest a strong season influenced by weather patterns such as La Niña, which can bring increased snowfall. In past years with La Niña conditions, snowfall proved to be normal to above average. Early forecasts indicate that higher-than-average snowfalls could create ideal skiing conditions, particularly at higher elevation resorts. However, exact conditions can vary, so skiers should keep an eye on updated weather reports as the season approaches. As of early November, the mountains and Denver have already experienced strong early season storms that will help build up Colorado’s snowpack.

What Colorado ski pass do I need?

To ski at Breckenridge Resort, you’ll need the Epic Pass, which provides access to Breckenridge as well as many other ski areas across Colorado and beyond. The pass options range from the full Epic Pass, offering unlimited skiing at various resorts, to more limited versions like the Epic Local Pass or Epic Day Pass, which cater to shorter visits or specific days. You can also select a Breckenridge day pass for a shorter trip. Choosing the right pass depends on how often you plan to ski and whether you’d like access to additional resorts.

How can I prepare for my ski trip?

Plan Ahead: Book accommodations, lift tickets, and ski rentals in advance to secure the best rates and availability.

Dress in Layers: Wear moisture-wicking base layers, an insulating mid-layer, and a waterproof outer layer to stay warm and dry.

Stay Hydrated: Cold weather can be dehydrating, so drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Protect Your Skin: Use sunscreen and lip balm with SPF to prevent sunburn, as the sun’s rays reflect off the snow.

Gear Check: Make sure your ski or snowboard equipment is properly fitted and in good condition before hitting the slopes. If you need a tune up, our technicians are here to freshen your gear up and make sure everything is in top shape.
